Islamic Spectacles

There are times in life when you feel trapped. Stuck in a corner, no exit in sight. A calamity has struck. The aftermath, devastating. Our vision obscured. Unable to think of any conclusions. Panic, sorrow, worry, anger and fear. One of these, or maybe even all of them become your closes friend. Eager to hold onto you- like a parasite to its host. Clinging on to you, in this state we embrace their company. Its now your only guide, lets you see through their eyes. Offering possible suggestions. Though nothing makes sense. Until you realise all isn't lost...

You slowly reach for the floor and put your Islamic spectacles on. Suddenly your vision is restored. Your friends retreat and take the back seat. You begin to see the world in a new light. brighter then it ever was before. Luminous and vibrant. You realise there is no deity greater than Allah. The blessings he has bestowed upon us are far too many. This 'great calamity' is no longer invincible. Like an overflowing beaker your mind is filled with solutions. Allahu Akbar, Allah is Great.

Whatever the problem no matter how big or how small don't forget that Allah chooses tests us all. Bear in mind he doesn't test you with anything you cant handle. Remember to be grateful in every situation, Alhamdulillah. Allah swt has told us in the Quran
And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient)". [2:155]

Remember people keep those specs on! :)

Cliché???

They say you don't know how much someone or something is worth until its gone. Yeah but what about not knowing what you've been missing until it arrives! We spend to much times rummaging through the abyss inside the box we forget to look out the window and see a horizon of opportunities. The grass is truly greener on the other side. How do you know when you reach that point of life where you can truly say your happy and have no worries? Telling yourself that if you were to die today everything you've ever done was worth it.... Is it about time we take a different approach to life? Take the bull by the horns?

They say love conquers all. I say it depends on the kind of love that's willing to take on your battles. When you put your trust and love in a higher power just know everything will be fine. After every hardship will come ease. Its a love that never fades. For every step you take in search for His love, The One and Only runs ten steps towards you! I call that endless love. The type of love that your mind, body and soul has been yearning for. All things grow with love!

Patience is a virtue. And your struggle will lead to success. Bearing in mind nothing comes easy it will be an uphill battle but every obstacle brings you closer to Him. Life without any trials will only cripple us and make us weak. Lets give every opportunity a chance to bring us closer to Allah, leave no room for regret.

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ''I will try again tomorrow''

"O Lord, grant me your love, grant me that I love those who love you; grant me, that I might do the deeds that win your love. Make your love dearer to me than the love of myself, my family and wealth." (Tirmidhi)

How quickly does the son of Adam change his mind?

Here is a story i heard when i was younger. InshaAllah we should learn from the morals of the story and reflect about our own lives.

A blind girl hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If only I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'
The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that.

The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left her in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying:

'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, before they were yours, they were mine.

'This is how the human brain often works when our 'status changes'.

Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift Today before you say an unkind word -Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food
- Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife
- Think of someone who's crying out to for a companion.

Today before you complain about life
- Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children
- Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep
- Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive
- Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job
- Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
- Remember that not one of us is without error.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
- Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

brothers and sisters I posted this story because it is a wonderful one, always be mindful to Allah and be nice to others.

Understated Blessing

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. Peace and blessings be upon the Messenger, his household and companions.

Well this is my first blog and before I bombard the pages of my virtual notebook, i think it would be wise to start with a quick reminder of something we normally take for granted. One of the most important blessings given to us by Allah after our faith is our health. we should praise Allah swt for the blessings he has bestowed upon us and express our gratitude and in turn take care of ourselves. We only realise how important our health is until we are sick, or someone we care about is in a poor state of health. And it is then when we begin to regret; had we used our time and health to make ibadah (worship) before illness/ disability strikes.

Good health is something for which we are accountable to Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "The first thing every servant of Allah will have to account for on the Day of Judgment is that he will be asked by God: Have I not given you a healthy constitution and have I not quenched your thirst with cold water?'' The Prophet also said: ''No one will be allowed to move from his position on the Day of Judgment until he has been asked how he spent his life; how he used his knowledge; how he earned and spent his money; and in what pursuits he used his health"

In order for us to preserve this blessing given to us we should thank Allah swt for all that he has given us.

I pray that this post was of benefit, inshaAllah I pray that Allah swt grants us all what is kheir & thank Allah swt for giving us health and iman. May every breath and step we take be for his sake alone. For those of us who are ill I pray that Allah grants you all health and patience. Ameen
